automating reloading for big
      #30067 - 26/04/05 10:44 AM

I decided to size and trim all my
375 at one time. I was bored in about 5 minutes.
This is not good for quality reasons.
I decided to automate the most repedetive
task. Lyman "POWER" trimmer,& and a RCBS
Trim Mate for the clean up. I also replaced
the gutless Redding press with the Lyman
"Crusher". I was disappionted it was only for
7/14 dies. No loads just retooling now.

k80:
The older Orange Crusher press could be purchased with the insert for large-body dies, alas mine came without. The new ones have abandoned the option altogether.

Still one of the best presses around IMHO.

Case-trimming sucks alright!! I use the Lee trimmers in a press-drill, keeps my sanity (barely!) intact!

For loading the big bores I only use a RCBS A-2 single stage press, it will load them all including 50 BMG..Its a great press with lots of room to work in...

I made an adapter that attaches to the handle of my trimmers that hooks up to a drill press, speedy is the word...

On the big bores however, as I crimp them all, I buy a set of file trim dies in each caliber so that my crimp will always be exact for each case loaded..Automated trimmers are grosley inaccurate IMO...

The Lyman power trimmer
is as accurate as any
mannual trimmer,and a
lot quicker.
