Hi Chaps,
Well I have been teasing this one for a while now, so forgive the time it has taken. My reason for the delay was that I purchased it back in October last year and due to importation delays etc, just got my hands on it today, so wanted to share a very quite photograph with you.
Very pleased with this lovely rifle. It is a BSA Lee-Speed Military/target pattern. Not perfect but a very clean and original example.
This is my first military/target pattern of Lee-Speed, so very happy to finally have an example.
Cheerio,
Roy

Nice - much better looking than the SMLE - more like a Springfield or Mauser, rather than having that pug-ugly front band and front sight shield.

Nice rifle Roy. Have always had a bit of a sweet spot for that target pattern. That looks to be in good condition for sure. Congratulations

Very nice Roy, that's a lovely example of the commercial target pattern.
It is the same as mine with the exception that the barrel on mine was swapped out to the shortened range rules in Australia.
Congratulations on the new acquisition to the stable.
Cheers

Thanks for all your kind comments gents.
It's not a perfect example but very respectable I feel, so a great addition. It appears to be little used with just the usual knocks and dings from casual use. The best thing is, it appears to be all original and untampered with, so a nice find.
Looking forward to taking a closer look when I clean it.
Cheerio,
Roy

Thanks Chaps,
Yes I will certainly plan to add this into my web project. Although in regards the Lee-Speed section of my website I have have fallen a little behind - partly due to a complete rebuilt of the whole site (on the downslope now) and also as the rifles have come in quicker than I can write about them. I think that is a success orientated problem or at least a happy one
And speaking of that...on Wednesday when I got home with this current rifle I had an email waiting confirming a deal for another one...looks to be a lovely No2. Can't really afford it but what's a chap to do..?
Cheerio,
Roy
