fake bow hunting?

what do you think, the pic was made in alaska in the 1930s in a time when people understand the 19. century with a whole ancient time was going away into a nothing. it looks like the eskimo was shooting on a dead bear to make a posed picture.
the two arrows in the stomach can not been shoot on a walking bear.

IMO itīs not in stomach but in chest very near place where bears heart is when he stands on back feet. The first arrow in back foot has stopped the animal and then the bear has risen on his back feet which is quite normal when he try to frighten human who is very near.

I would like to know where he got what looks like barred turkey feathers. Would they have been available that far north. Agree with the shots to the chest.

It is possible the 2 chest shots made it to the lungs/heart area, but possibly too far back for the heart - thus lungs/liver.

The penetration of those two shots appears only 6 or 7 inches, which is likely just enough to pen the heart. Why the bear stood for 2 shots there, is remarkable - perhaps too remarkable.

Boys, the bear attacked him and he was caught unawares so he managed to stab the bear with the arrows, all it did to him was to peel his hood back, not a scratch!

I'm going with the femoral artery shot, with 2 insurance shots after tracking until it went down.

Even in B&W would expect to see heaps of blood tho....

There might be a tich of blood on the snow under the arrows - looks like it to me. Would have expected much more, though. But - Hey - obviously, he dragged it 50 yards to the side so the bloody snow would not spoil the picture, don't ya know.

Could be real and perhaps the bear was swimming or climbing out and arrowed from the ketch in the background and it died on the that spot.

The two that know for sure are the bear and the archer and I would say neither of them are letting on.
