I have been makeing quite a few knives lately and of course when done they need sharpened.

This was the pattern I made for a set of pig stickers for the local hunters





There were a couple of others I did at the same time

G'day mate,
was wondering when you'd chime in again.
can you let us know in a bit more detail the type of steel & a few tricks along the way if you can please?
Had a look at Damasteel (modern Damascus steel) & was really impressed at the samples! I am going to try a crack at making my own knife (really like your templates actually!), but try something a little more simple first before using something more complex & expensive as Damasteel!

First I built the 2x72 grinder which was an interesting project in itself.

This is the wapiti knife I just designed for a guy here in NZ



And one with a bit added to it for a guy in the US



I can do a bit more of a thread on the grinder and making the knives if there is interest. I had posted it on other forums but wasn't sure about posting it here.
