Steve Barnett is a dealer who has been around a long time. He has a nice website:

I have not bought anything from him and don't know if his wares are over-priced. He has been out there for a while, so I must assume that his prices are attractive to somebody. Otherwise, how could he stay in business?

I have seen his display at the Vintagers and at Las Vegas. He has some really nice stuff.

I've seen his site too.

That H&H boxlock seems to have just sold...

The Perugini&Visini two barrel set best gun (375H&H and 20bore) with full bolino and scroll by Pedretti ain't so bad at $25000. Wood looks nice, the case and gun seem to be in great shape. It's a honey for someone who likes that kind of work.

12 Bore paradox gun looks nice too, I'd need to hold it in my hands, but fifty-five hundred bucks doesn't sound so bad.

The Verney Carron in 450-400 3-1/2 with the ladder sight for seven grand has been tempting.

Gotta say, if I were to walk through his racks and handle those guns, my hundred dollar bills would be in serious trouble.
Fair to say too, he'd likely offer some kind of flexibility once the cash came out. That's just how things tend to work out.

Oh god-
That Griffin-Howe .410 round body SLE is goregeous!
That and it's only $4500!!
Be still...

Anone want to buy a very nice AYA no1 in 20 bore with 98% case color and hand detatchable lock plates?
I'd let it go for the .410...

I agree with the other poster. What is so bad about his pricing ?

None of them look too outrageous for what they are ?

I also know of at least 1 gun purchased from him that went through 2 other
dealers very quickly so if 2 dealers can buy a gun and mark it up, his pricing can't
be all bad.

Have a look at some of the other sites and see what they charge for similar items
(ie see Westley Richards Sidelocks and Droplocks).

Just MHO.

I purchased an inexpensive Spanish 12 bore sidelock from him about 6 months ago. The price was right, and the gun is a good, tight field grade that shoots where it is pointed. I have it to loan to hunters who don't have/bring a shotgun. It being a sidelock, most nimrods believe they are getting to shoot something special and unusual.

If you shop and deal a bit, his guns are priced about mid-market.

I have a Spanish sidelock (an Azhur) and there is nothing wrong with them. Especially the price!

I wish there were more of them around.

I looked over the guns and most of them are about where they should be priced, especially the double rifles, and I suspect he has some room to deal...
