At home we have a disused concrete water tank 7' deep with clean mountain creek water running through it. It is a handy place to be on these hot days. Brrr the water is 'refreshing'

Bloody lucky. It would take me 3 years to get "permission" to put in a tank to use stream or creek water. Actually not even then, can not use the creek or river water on my land at all. 3 years just for a tank or dam for bore water ... And the creek is dry anyway.

Looks lovely though. Lucky bugger.

Looks great! Lots of bush there.

Last week I had to come home early due to proximity of a bushfire that burn't out 550sq km. If a southerly change had of blown through Sunday afternoon half an hour later than it did a lot of the drilling gear would have been burnt out as well as mine infrastructure.

Temp that Sunday was about 110F and blowing a gale from the west. The enormous fire created a massive CB cloud that caused black rain downwind and set many other fires off, up to 80km away, from lightning it generated.

Has been a bad summer here for lightening generated fires. We have been in the bush with lightening around and rushing to get out before being caught by possibility of fire.

Lots of bush? Lots of everything ha ha snakes included,I have seen a couple this week.

JH the tank was installed and used for a pressure/header system many years ago, for washdown of the dairy. A blackwood tree had fallen into it but still attached to the earth grew and shed leaves for years. The tank was emptied and the 2' of leaves and accumulated detritus was turfed out by a big strong mate of mine.
(he got beer)
I actually found a Wedge Tail Eagle skull and a lot of the other bones in the rubbish that came out.

The skull has been tanned by the blackwood tree`s leaves rotting in the old water, they are full of tannin and it sits on the dresser as i type.

D I can see you having a dip then sitting under one of the big trees in the shade with a cold beer.

BTW D I thought you may have recognised the Cedars in the pics..native to your country.
