Holy cow. That Manton.

Well i was really sort of curious in the abstract sense of the word as it seems I often see lovely rifles for sale in Germany and England at good prices, but thanks Mr. Enabler...now I'm half way seriously in the market.

Hey Squarebridge,
You could buy the one at MW Reynolds and change your name to Double Squarebridge!!
That particular rifle is mine and IMO priced right. If it doesn't sell soon though, I think I will just keep it. Maybe come up with a good way to make brass. I think it could be done with 458WM with some belt removal and some serious resizing.

Huvius you're right - it is priced right. You couldn't buy the action for that. I never have a fat roll at the right time. When I'm poor it's raining rifles!

Thanks for the tip on NECG - I never thought of that.

Quite similar style to my "new" noname English .375 Rimless Nitro Express, London proofed too. Maybe built in the same shop? But about 10 times the price.

No, though they had similar ballistics. The .375 Flanged Nitro Express 2 1/2" was, as the name tells,a rimmed, tapered case, while the .375 Rimless Nitro Express aka 9.5x57 Mannlicher-Schoenauer M1910 has a rimless, bottlenecked case 2 1/4" long.

Ah ok, thank you for that, that is an interesting rifle, how much do you think that should go for? I would say that is pretty on par with what similar rifles are priced here in the USA.

Anyone have a clue to the identity of the scope? The seller describes it as steel tubed, but I was under the impression that early rail mounted scopes had alloy tubes.

.257 Hyper Express by Grasset in Paris, known to me for the .445 Grasset Nitro before
http://www.naturabuy.fr/257-HYPER-EXPRESS-GRASSET-item-2139549.html
I understand it based on the 6,5x61 Mauser cartridge

It is interesting that the Grasset rifle is fitted with a Martini Cadet sight, which is normally marked to correspond with the .310 Cadet cartridge. I wonder if the range markings have been changed to correspond to the .257 Hyper Express cartridge?
