SOLD - DWM 1915 GEw98 Sporter in .303/270 Magnum
      #294278 - 26/01/17 04:29 PM

DWM 1915 GEW98 rebuilt in .303/270 Magnum for sale. This is one of those rifles made up by an unknown Aussie gunsmith/gunshop in the days where the only real calibres, available, were the .303 wildcats. Fitted with a very nice, and period, Lyman 48 aperture sight. The barrel is 24" with a nice clean bore that should be very shootable. I was going to restore and shoot this rifle, perhaps even re-chamber to .270 Winchester (with the extractor replaced, this should work nicely) but I need dollars for other projects, so this will have to go. $Aud400. Buyer to pay postage and reasonable offers considered.

Hi BwanaBob,
I have one very similar in 303-270. Could you post a photo or drawing of the cartridge.
Thanks

Built on someone's WWI trophy rifle perhaps? Some work went into that obviously.

"White men with their ridiculous civilization lie far from me. No longer need I be a slave to money"

"The largest amount of money made [by Bell from ivory taken in a single day was 863 pounds sterling." That would buy a decent house in those days. Bell retired to a nice place in the countryside back in the UK, not a grass hut in the African bush.

What would a .303/270 MAGNUM case look like?

I have one in my collection box, a .303/270 stamped case, simply a .303 necked for a .277" bullet.
