Who still makes 9.3X64 brass, and is there an importer into the USA?

It is steel cased, but at least itd make decent range ammo? I have never shot it and is cheap compared to the loaded stuff.

I do know that Brown Bear was bought by a German company, so you have to expect the quality to be pretty good.

if you have 6,45 mm Berdan primer you can reload the steel cases like any other brass. having enough brass cases in the house but dont overlock this steel.
RWS and Brennecke loading ammo with brass cases and RWS also selling new brass so there must be an importer in the US I would think.

RWS is the only manufacturer that I definitely know of that makes 9.3x64mm brass.
Sorry I'm unable to access another site that had different types of Bertram brass on it to verify if they make it also!
RWS brass is very good to say the least, I've reloaded each a minimum of 20 times & only annealed recently after 25 years of service. Still no apparent head separations on checking after cases sized & cleaned. And no these aren't pip-squeak loads!

Hello Steve,

first of all the best wishes for a happy new year 2017 to you and your family!

brass:
How many cases do you need in 9,3x64?

With a little bit of waiting time I can order cases of one lot and send it to you.

best regards
Rolf

Hello Rolf.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TOO!

All is ok here. Are you going to come visit in 2017?

Snow is kneed deep here, and the temperature is very low. It's 10;00 in the morning now and the temp has come all the way up to -18.3 C.
I am sure that makes you want to jump on an airplane today and come.

I don't need any 9.3X64 brass. The reason for the question is that I am trying to get Green Mountain Barrels to make a run of 9.3 barrels for the American market, and I was posting suggestions for chambers. The 9.3X64 seems like an excellent caliber, but brass is not easy to find in the US.

The 2 cartridges that are of interest mostly are the 9.3X57 and the 9.3X62.

Both because the work so well on game and because they are extremely easy to convert from existing KAR or GEW Mauser 98s. The 9.3X62 can also be made form about any American made 30-06. Barnes, Hornady, Nosler, Speer and Swift all make bullets in .366" so they are available here. Brass is not a problem because PPU makes it and also because the 9.#x57 can easily be formed from 8MM Mauser, and the 9.3X62 can be made from 35 Whelen easily.

In my posts I am informing the readers of their options, but the hang-up with the 9.3X64 is the brass. So I was asking those that read here if it was still available, and then I need to find someone that imports it into the USA if anyone is to have interest in that caliber. It is about the same as the 375H&H on game and can be made from a GEW Mauser easier than a 375H&H can, so it should be more popular here, but without available brass that's not going to happen.

Anyway,,,, that's why I asked the question.

Stay in touch
Happy hunting.
