If I can ever find one,. I DO plan to pick one of these up for 2017..

Note the rate of twist--- 7.7

Was watching GUNS AND AMMO on TV last night..Ruger rep was on there..said the twist was picked on for shooting the longer 100-110 gr bullets for longer distances...also stated recoil is light enough you can spot your own shots as you shoot them.. definitely an asset..

Took my Ruger precision to the range yesterday and fired a string starting at 39gr H4350 to 41grs using Hornady EXL-D 143gr. Fired three shot groups and at 41grs the group measured .203. Starting to look Promising.

Perhaps I am not as fussy as you, but if I shoot a .203" group my reloading experiment is done..I am using THAT load...

What velocity are you shooting ?
thx

Did not chronograph it but I certainly am not complaining. Going to try some Noslers tomorrow if weather permits.

Why not just buy the .243. There not selling because everybody wants a 6.5 and the prices are down on them. Ruger is discontinuing them.

From what I read, the 6 creedmore might be a tad bit more user friendly when it comes to the accuracy department..one of the issues with the 243 has always been the neck length..whether accurate or not, but another reason the Remington 6mm was always considered a better choice and case design when it comes to reloading and accuracy...

In the end it might not end up to be much of or any difference..but its a new toy to play with and I like to do that.. Like the article stated, if you have a bunch of .243 brass or are just old and crotchety, stay with the .243...no one if forcing you to do so...

Midway got in the new Nosler RDF bullets in (6.5mm, 140gr) today. Not sure how long they will last before selling out.

I just tried some Nosler bullets today. That makes 142gr and 130grs. My rifle just isn't al that happy with them. The groups are not that bad just not as good as the Hornady.

If you are just using it for shooting targets or pests, have you tried Bergers??

While I do NOT like them for a hunting bullet, they shoot really well out of most of the rifles I have tried them in including the 26 and 28 nosler...
