I have a D grade rigby 450/400 3 1/4.I am looking for info on who actually made these rifles or any other relevant information.By the way its a back action hammergun,jones underlever and will shoot em all day long in a three inch circle if I do my part.

The following link should take you to a list of serial numbers relative to dates for Rigby but I’m not sure if the serial numbers for the ‘D’ & ‘C’ grade guns are part of this series.

As regards information on your individual gun I’m afraid the wastes of time that currently own the Rigby name are refusing to release any information from their records (something of a PR & financial miscalculation by them).

Can you post a picture of the Action photographed from the TOP
and side.

Also, post ANY LETTERS / MARKS etc from the barrel and action
including the proof marks and serial no's.

Sounds like you have a nice piece. I used to have a
Holland Underlever Hammer in 500/450 3 1/4" which
used to be owned by Graeme Wright - it's mentioned in his book
somewhere.

I would love to post some pics but for some reason posting pics on this sight isnt very compatable with my PC,I am going to strike the bbls as there is quite alot of exterior pitting, but the bores,locks and action is very clean.
