Marlin Firearms Custom Shop

G'Day Fella's,

I see in the current edition of Wolfe publishing Rifle magazine (#289, page 18) that www.MARLINFIREARMS.com have announced a Custom Shop.
Now, I'm not sure if this is a New thing or it has been available, and I just noticed it?

Unfortunately, there is no mention of this one their above web site?
Further to this; On display at 2016 SHOT this week. New Marlin Custom Shop 336 and 1894 with factory installed Skinner Sights. Dakota Arms is now the Marlin Custom Shop. These are beautiful rifles available by special order. Marlin chose Skinner Sights as an option on these high grade rifles.

Doh!

I wonder if the custom shop was created to fix all the Remington induced production defects?

I know, I I know, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all..........

Still sorry I sold my JM stamped .450 Marlin.........

Yeah- hear you - years ago, pre-safety, I had a .444 and .45/70 1895. Both rifles would shoot 1 1/4" to 1 1/2", 3-shot groups at 100 meters with top-end loads. The .444 did 2,200fps with 300's from all three US manufacturers and the .45/70 did 2,100fps with 350's Hornady RN's (before the FN).

Missed it so much, I just bought another .45/70 - it's close, but no cigar. I re-model on the stock (or re-stock) and re-checkering is in order. It shoots OK, but not as well - yet.
