Some really nice photos mate!
Liked the golden eagle one, very much like our wedge tail!
Nice stag - would be an enjoyable but hefty chore.
Lucky bugger!
Cheers

Great pictures, Ripp - nice bull, btw - not all covered in piss & all swollen up - should be really good eating.

Once the storm blew through it wasn't too bad..was about 2-4C in the morning but wind was howling for couple hours..warmed up to 10C the following day...

Heat wave... its actually warmed up here since..suppose to be 15C today

It's been staying pretty much over the freezing point here, too, Ripp - quite mild.

Yes today it was sunny and then light rain and 66F..beautiful for this time of year but not good for elk hunting...

Dang....I look at the pictures and again regret not talking a camera with me.
I never do.
I always think "next year I will" and I never remember.

Oh well, I remember the sights in my mind.

I did get a bull, but the only pic I have is of his antlers here on our kitchen table.

Is that a 6th peg on that left antler, Steve? It doesn't really matter much - I went 5 hours North to get an elk end of Sept. got a wasp sting, reacted and spent the next week getting over it. We didn't even see any elk, yet we glasses prime elk territory (from 6 years ago when the wolves first showed up.
I forgot my camera too, but nothing but bush & landscape to film - no critters except beef cattle and a single 2-point mulie buck we saw first day. We should have seen dozens of them. Nadda

There are 2 little bumps on the back of the top tines. Some time in the past it may have been a 6X6 but today it's a 5X5. Old elk for sure. Horns are getting smaller instead of bigger, but the body was very big.
He's in the freezer now.

God was good to me.
