Seriously nice, that will make a lovely light stalking rifle, and in a very capable calibre.

Joel, beautiful rifle in a great caliber. Really well proportioned with a lovely piece of wood. Really well done.

Me too!!!

My main two rifles are, by the way, a 7x57 and a .30-06!! The former is an Argentine Mauser M1935, the last Mauser contract of our country, but instead the original 7,65x53 barrel I put a pristine, unused 7x57 military Chilean barrel made by SIG. The 30-06 is an FN-AKAH sporting rifle made in the 60's.
But have this two Dorleacs would be a dream to me.....
I have not seen better work in Mauser hunting rifles than Dorleac's. Period.

Lovey- will the barrels be rust-blued and action metal colour cased?

This rifle will be full rust blued even if some parts (trapped grig cap, safety lever, main screws, trigger...) will be hardened in color using the traditional bone and charcoal method.
Notice that, as usually done on all our rifles, the metal parts will receive a few touches of restrained, but perfectly executed, engraving.

With these rifles stocked this way, how are they to shoot with the open sights? Is the stock not too high for them?

The D&D stocks, even if they appear to haven't too much drop, are perfectly adapted to shoot with the open sights and we take great care to tailor them to our customers measures.

Lovely rifle. Can't get used to the massively oversized scopes.

Your Quickly Detachable mounts look so different to those used in the USA. I imagine that they are very stable because of the distance between the two rings.

Do you build in some cast to your rifle stocks?
