CRF Action form Defiance Machine
      #285252 - 15/07/16 02:40 PM

I seem to have missed this one. Defiance Machine (http://defiancemachine.com) has a controlled round feed action out to compliment their existing actions. See photos here, I'm too lazy to get images to post:

The current lead time is 10 months and they only have standard and magnum bolt heads (long and short actions). I would love to get one of these in a Rigby bolt head to build into a 300 Norma.

Interesting comment that CRF is a $150 option on most of their actions.
I suppose that these are now filling the niche left by old Ed Brown 704

Fail to understand why the bolt's face is so scarred up when brand new.
The safety tucked under the bolt handle is also somewhat strange.

That's their bolt handle for M700 stock inlets. I don't think that's scarring you see, it looks like a think film of oil with some particles in it.

-Yes but is it a true CRF?...what distance does the feeding cartridge have to travel before the claw properly engages the rim?

you'd be surprised how many people think they have a CRF functioning rifle , that in reality operates like a push feed for some distance
before the claw properly engaging the cartridge rim....all my M70 classics and numerous others that I've seen, did not effectively engage the
rim for maybe a third (or more ) of the follower/magbox length... people on other forums have highlight the same issue with their 'CRF" rifles.

and is the extractor claw undercut?....
because thats a design feature that contributes much to the reliable and positive extraction of a CRF.

They are not offering this option on the .750" bolts so anything larger than a magnum case rim is out. Too bad, I wanted one for a .300 Norma Magnum build.

It really is more "form follows function" versus classic lines. I've handled and shot their Deviant actions and there is a reason that so many competitive shooters and rifle builders use them.
