I've got a couple of photos from Stuart Anderson Wheeler which I have been planning to put up when I have time. Will look now. Have been looking for a time to chat on the phone with him and maybe some comments too later.

The Anderson Wheeler double rifle does has its moments with some close ups in the films. For having that type of a firearm in that era from the film, is like owning a Lamborghini today, it's a real beauty. The film was a really good action adventure and highly recommend.

Went and borrowed lots f images since your post. Plan to post some here.
Tarzan was good viewing for me as a kid, adventure, even if the idiots often made the Tarzan movies anti hunting. As an immature child worked out the BS myself, something the Hollywood braindead druggies and other moronic antis don't work out for all their lives.
Hope I can see the movie this week and hopefully it does some justice. The original books are quite good too, listened to one (or two?) as audio books in the last two or three years.

I used to watch the Tarzan Series with Ron Ely ,and even back then had the pompous do gooder bits that were a turn off ,one where Jai was given a rifle by a hunter ,he looks it over and likes it, then ,decides to smash it against a tree [i just couldnt comprehend that ,at that time ] then Ron Ely [Tarzan ] pats him on the back so to speak ,and they leave it and move on .just didnt make any sense to me ,just irresponsible to me anyway .

In my book the moviemakers should have used a hammer double rifle with jones underlever, which would indicate the story takes place in the times of Queen Victoria. The actors are dressed in some cloths which is in no way are historical correct for anything. Samuel Jackson should play a half naked black porter, carrying extra rifle, speaking bad english with an african dialect.
Sorry guys, but this movie is too much nice Hollywood for me.

I Just saw the movie. And i agree. That rifle is a bit too modern for its time. That year is 1889. And a hammer less Gun, That he random picks UP...
Pluss it is a 470NE hehehe 😝
500NE With hammer and underleaver 😁

If Samual L Jackson played George Washington Williams then his character would be reasonably correct. A Civil War veteran and much travelled negro historian who did spend time in Africa.

I assumed by the scene in the film he obtained the double rifle from the railroad/train engineer.
