What is this type of engraving known as? How is it done? Any other features of it? Lasting or not?

Hard to tell from the photo, but looks like Bulino engraving. Lots of dots. Don't know how they do it!

Punched by a small point punchl I think.

Some of the Italian and Spanish engraving is fantastic by this method.
