Thanks for the pic's. Glad it finally arrived. You made a wise choice in cartridges. Components are quire varied and easy to get. A 525gr lyman mold and some Bp and you will have a blast. If you have old eyes change the eye cup to a Hadly eye cup. Its a huge improvement.

Nice, Tony. The grain flow up the wrist is really nice to see.

That is the same ladder sight I have on my 1876 now.

Your midrange sight should be a lot of fun. The Hadly adjustable iris apertures are REALLY nice.

Took it to the range yesterday and tried a couple of Trail Boss loads while I work up the courage to go Black.

I will need to play with the OAL for the 535gr projectiles I used but the 405's all loaded well and seemed to shoot OK- 13 and 16gr of TB. The 535 had 8, 9 and 10grs.

You wouldn't credit it but day 1 and I scratched the butt with a zipper on my coat (starting to get cold here it was 0 O/N- Daryl don't even say it!).

I have a good gunsmith up here and he is going to fix the sight up (bit off centre) remove the ladder sight (its so cheap its embarrassing and it gets in the way)and hopefully be able to fix up the damage I did

The last C Sharps that I ordered I ordered the plainest wood they could find just for that reason. The owner of C Sharps called me back about a week later to see if there was a mistake on the order. He said they didn't keep that plain a grade of wood. I told him to go to the lumber store and get a two by six if he had to. I don't know where he found it but I have the plainest C Sharps in the world. I have one of those tang sights in the desk drawer along with the front sight for exactly the same reason.

Took it out to a 100M range with the Chrono and tried some different loads.

The results were interesting

405gr Proj:

16gr of TB- 1100 fps

30gr of 2207- 1250 fps

535gr proj:

10gr of TB- 680 fps

28gr of 2207- 1148 fps

The ADI 2207 loads were the most accurate.

The 405gr put 2 rds into one ragged hole.

and boy was it fun to shoot!

Try some duplex loads with the 535gr bullet. Excellent velocity and run very clean.
