Here's one on Gunsinternational, not mine. "MAUSER SPECIAL ORDER RARE OBERNDORF DBL SQ BRIDGE 9.3 X 62 SPORTING RIFLE"

Description:
MAUSER SPECIAL ORDER VERY RARE 1939 OBERNDORF SQUARE BRIDGE WITH SOLID LEFT WALL, 9.3 X 62, SPECIAL ORDER 24" 1/2 OCTAGON, 1/2 ROUND BBL, FULL LENGTH INTERGRAL RIB, FULL LENGTH EXTRACTOR, DBL SET TRIGGERS, SPECIAL ORDER SIDE SAFETY, BEAUTIFUL FIGURED WALNUT, MANNLICHER STOCK WITH SCHNABLE FOREND, LOP 14 5/8 TO ORIGINAL FACTORY BUTTPLATE, 8LBS 14OZ, 1 FX 2 LEAVES, INTERGRAL RAMP FRONT, FACTORY SEE THRU CALW MOUNTS WITH 4X SCOPE, 99% ORIGINAL, PRISTINE BORE!

Yes, a post-1931 factory option.
But the scope and rings are not. The Kahles 1.5 - 4 x scope is post-WW2, 1960s at best, and the rings are not "Mauser Oberndorf factory".

This Stutzen appears to be a cross between a Typ S and a Typ M. It has the secondary "schnabel" of the Typ S on the fore end, but the flat bolt handle and metal fore end cap of the Typ M. Probably just an example of "The customer is always right."

The for end cap appears to be horn rather than metal. Probably an option on a Type S as is the butter knife bolt handle. It also has Mauser factory scope mounts....Very nice

Kurz Mauser Oberndorf prewar

Holt´s reoffering unsold lots:
http://auctions.holtsauctioneers.com/asp...5&saletype=

Now offered for 2.340 including fees and VAT. A real bargain.

Wonder it was unsold.
Have some more details , because I made that rifle build and sold it a few years ago.
Genuine commercial Oberndorf Kurz Mauser with original furniture, Lothar Walther barrel copy in .243 Win.
Stockwork by Gernoth Walther (Stockmaker for Hartmann and Weiss).

And , No I have no personal interest in dealing with that rifle.
Suppose the former owner died.

"I don't need a bolt gun...I don't need a bolt gun...I don't need a bolt gun..."

Not typical Fraser engraving but WOW!! a 22HP on a Kurz Mauser action!!

Keep telling myself "I don't need a bolt gun...I don't need a bolt gun...I don't need a bolt gun..."

I can't get the pictures to copy well. Just need to stop looking!

"MAUSER
A FINE CUSTOM .243 WIN. BOLT-MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. 87579"

I'll be damned if I can figure out the thinking behind that stock. It would be a perfect fit for prone shooting, but you could never shoot it prone with that scope mounted so far back. And the rear sight is a joke. You could never get your face low enough on that comb to use it.

Maybe it works in a Hochsitz or Kanzel, but I can't see how you would use it on the ground.

You should!
There were quite a few American customs built on Kurz actions but for some reason not so many English or Scottish rifles.
Then, being a 22HP which is really a very overlooked cartridge - mostly because of the odd .227-.228" bullet diameter - makes it even more appealing to me as I already have a double in that chambering.
This one is near the top of the heap IMO. Just one damn nice rifle!

a Mauser rifle probably unknown outside of germany, the "Zoll" or customs carbine was made in the early 1950s by Heym for the german customs as a more civil version of the 98k with new barrelled actions coming from FN in belgium. because of its indestructebelility and its is more like a hunting rifle this gun is loved by dog handler when searching for wounded game.

Theres a few 10.75s in the US to avoid the headache of importation, it shouldn't take that long to find them, or are you just looking for a Mauser Model A
