It looks like I've won a bid on one of these rifles. It's stainless with a kevlar/fiberglass stock. 24" barrel with sights. It's a replica of a pre 64 Winchester, control round action. Do any of you have any experience with this brand of rifle? They appear to be nice guns, but I'll have to wait and see. I'll post pictures when I get it.

Ripp did Montana Rifle move? Can't remember if you are in Bozeman or Billings, but one 5 1/2 hours and the other is 7 1/2 hours to Kalispell.
I know there was talk about it.

Yes. It seems all the articles are positive, but some of the forums tell a different story. I hope the former is true. I think the newer rifles are supposed to be of really good quality. We'll see!

I bought a left handed 458 Lott from Montana. I had looked at various rifles .I was going too buy a Cz ,but the price for a left handed Cz above .375 was almost 2.5 times of a right handed rifle. So I called Montana and asked a few questions and asked if they could build mea458lott around 8lbs. I was told a 3 month lead time that was fine 5 months later I called and they said it would be a few more weeks. Long story short 3 months turned into around 7months. I received the gum the fit and finish was good the bolt was a little stiff it smoothed out after using it some. I split the stock at the tang the first day I shot it. I had put 20 rounds thru it and noticed a crack at the tang. Called Montana sent the rifle back 2.5 weeks later received the newly stocked rifle. There customer service was good the rifle shoots very well. Other than double the time I was quoted I have no complaints. I will probally have them build me another.

You will split the tang on this stock as well unless several things are done. Relive the stock behind the tang, about 1 playing card thickness should do. Have the rifle bedded and 2 cross bolts put in if not there. Any one of these especially the first will probably prevent further splits but all 3 should guarantee it.

I was in the Machine shop that produces most of their parts, just today and can say the parts are very well made. A really top notch facility that works on tight tolerances. Bob
