CZ-USA safari rifles no longer available(in europe)?
      #270014 - 05/09/15 11:13 PM

Gentlemen,

mid of 2013 I ordered a CZ-Magnum rifle in 505 Gibbs at my local gun dealer.
The order was accepted and the delivery of the rifle scheduled for beginning of 2014.
I also paid 1000€ of the rifle price in advance.

In March 2014 I began to ask my dealer about the delivery. My inquiry was forwarded to the importer and then to CZ in Czech and then to CZ USA.
On my five or six inquiries I heard only: "Your request was forwarded, we have to wait for an answer."

On wednesday this week I was informed by my gun dealer that
"CZ and CZ-USA do not produce this rifle/caliber any more"

My first reaction was: OK, not longer available, but they accepted my request and they had two years time for assembling my rifle, so I should get it in the near future!

Then I was told that my rifle is also not available.

Today I tried to check for "CZ-USA" and "CZ Safari Rifles", but the homepage was not found.

Can any body enlighten me whether the company in USA does not exist any longer or whether the Safari rifles from CZ are not longer available?

best regards
Rolf

Gentlemen,

thanks to Igorrock I found the site and also the rifle in question (505 Gibbs):
http://cz-usa.com/product/cz-550-american-safari-magnum-375-hh-5-rd-fixed-mag/

I will send the link to my gun dealer and ask him about the current offer.

But otherwise the message came from CZ-Importer Frankonia that they cannot deliver a CZ-Safari rifle and they have to cancel my order?!

I will report about my my research...

best regards
Rolf

It could be possible that european importers are not allowed to sell USA -models...

Triple River Gunsmithing assembles the Safari Classics line of CZ550. They are only available in the states. They used to be exported to other countries like Canada but not any more.
The American Black Walnut stocks of the Safari Classics and American Fancy Grade are made in the states, actions come from CZ as do some barrels.

Here is their website:

I have ordered direct from CZ-USA and imported it into Canada myself, using a FFL dealer to export it. It's doable but expensive. I would today use Prophet River firearms to do it today. They are a bit cheaper.

Gentlemen,

last week I received the confirmation that Brno/USA rifles are no longer available in Germany through Frankonia/Hoffmann importers.

So thank you all for your information and your support.

Now I have to look at Ritterbusch & Co., which will charge three to four times the price of a Brno Safari.

best regards
Rolf

Dumoulin and Hartmann and Weiss make beautiful 505 Gibbs I believe. Here's a Hartmann and Weiss

Here's a Dumoulin:

Hello Chuck375,

those are pictures of truly wonderful rifles!

However I consider these also a little bit out of my financial reach ...

But I keep on searching for a nice 505, and I think itīs only a question of time when I can purchase one (no more than 2 centuries in the worst case, we will see... :-)

best regards
Rolf
