Those look excellent, Peter.

Where did you have them Ceracoated? Did Corlaines in Dawson Creek do this?

I'd like to have my .375 done as it is 416 Stainless.

Did you do the stocks? Nice job at any rate.

This is a .22 AckIMP Hornet my brother stocked up a number of years ago.
The barreled action is browned and is a CZ Hornet barrel.

that is a nice martini Daryl .

I done the fitting and the rough work on the top one and had the pros finish the checkering
,but I did most of the metal work and barreling and made the barrels on the 30 carbine and 22-17.

As for the 30 carbine , it was supposed to be a 327 fed with a 308 barrel .I could not get it to reliably get it to extract ,the rim on the case is too small for my skill level .Or it would miss the extractor when inserting a fresh cartridge .well then came plan B .

Plan B started of by cutting the barrel to accept 32-20 case rim .I have a 30 carbine reamer on hand and dies .recut the chamber slowly to fit 30Car but a bit short to allow the use of 32-20 brass .

To form brass just run a sizer ball to straighten case and run through 30 car sizing die and now you have a tapered rimmed case that extracts
cheers Peter

I missed mentioning the the ceracote was done at corlains this week by Greg and he did a wounderful job as usual .Smooth and no bumps

the base is a talley #252420
3.8" long
.600 wide
.460 high at both ends

There are 3 screw holes ,with in 2.6" which I liked .Only need just over 2 1/2 inch of even shank to install it and there is just over 1 inch to contour to go over the front of the receiver ,which works well on large martinis.

We took a while to find a clean looking steel base /ring set that didn't look added on/out of place

cheers Peter

The search was certainly worth it as they have really added to the overall package.

I see that Product Number: 252420 is for the handirifle so you have had to contour the rear to sit over the front of the action.

recently picked up a auzzie cadet in 222Rem(rimless) from eastern canada. It was near completed .I finished it up and she shoots and ejects perfectly. It came with a nasty set of weaver bases on it and I did the tally replacement to match the other and sweated of the front sight base as it was kinda out of wack .
thought I would put it in this thread [image]http://[/image]
