Would be absolutely devastating....

I have been using the 26 Nosler for a bit--just shooting..up to this point really like it..but have not had the opportunity to use in much on game..also have a 28Nosler in the making..using a Proof barrel with a Pierce titanium action..McMillian Edge stock..Jewell trigger..having trouble getting all the components..mainly the stock...but hoping to have it done before fall to use on deer and elk..

Cool build. 1:8 twist? Is the issue with the stock caused by high demand for a McMillan?

Yes, the stocks are just plain hard to get whether its a McMillan or otherwise when it comes to light weight..I asked why and was told this is the hot item right now--which seems a bit weird in that light rifles have been around for a long time now..bought my first Lex Webernick well over 10 years ago...

Yes--it is a 1:8 twist

I got sick and tiered of waiting for the 35 Nosler to come out so have started a 35RUM build.

Good Plan...
I think Nosler is on to something with these ..do we need them? absolutely not..but as I see it, NEED has nothing to do with it..NO belt, fits in a standard action and faster and more efficient than some of the older cartridges... as I stated, up to this point I really like the 26..and its doing everything they claimed in terms of velocity. Read an article recently by John Barsness that stated in checking the barrels were holding up a lot longer than earlier predicted. John stated he has a friend who has over 1500 rounds out of his 26 so far and is still shooting under an inch group..for most, 1500 rounds of high caliber rifle rounds is several lifetimes...

For many people, yes, 1,500 rounds would be a lot of shooting.

Ripp, I totally agree with you. Having a 35 Whelen, 35Sambar, 375H&H and 416 Rigby I don't need the 35 RUM but I want it and it will be good to use. As Daryl said, 1500 rounds from a overbore case is a lot of shooting.

I'll have to take a closer look at this case family. I've been Leary of Nosler brass, my first experience with them has been the 300SAUM brass, I've lost a few after one firing due to loose primer pockets loaded for my 6.5SAUM. Norma, which is supposed to make the Nosler brass, has fared much better.

I have newly purchased Nosler brass in .308, .243 and 9.3x62 - it is incredible brass - perfectly weight sorted, chamfered inside and outside the necks, exactly all the same length and even inside chamfered flash hole. The .243 and .308 Nosler brass weighs the same as the new Hornady brass - interesting.

Love it - so far.

Been my experience as well..I have purchased it for 26 and 28 Nosler, 6.5/284, 280AI, 7RUM and 308...all top notch stuff

The only Nosler Brass I have is in 300SAUM. Best I can say about it is I don't bother looking for or picking up the ejected case in the field.

I should also note, it had better be good as it's twice the price of anything else. the 9.3x62 was the first - $56.99/25 cases 3 years ago, and is now around $80.00 for the same 25 cases.
They have 2 levels of cases - their standard and their Custom. I found both to be excellent.

Rule303 - can't suggest why your experience would be so bad with them.
