"Take down rifles can be made with exchange barrels in different calibres, here is a list of some useful combinations:

338 Win / 458 Lott
300 Win Mag / 375 H&H
300 Win Mag / 416 Rem
8 x 68 S / 9.5 x 66 ( 375 Westley Richards)
270 Win / 9.3 x 62 270 WSM / 325 WSM"

Not wanting to take out anything of a gunmaker's claims as to usefulness - what the heck is 9,5x66 (.375 Westley Richards)? Never heard of that one!

A search showed this immediately:
http://www.cartridgecollector.net/95-x-66-vom-hofe-super-express

9.5 X 66 VOM HOFE SUPER EXPRESS

Maybe Westley Richards decided it needed a named cartridge?

I also thought the 9.5x66 had a Scandinavian name?

Here is some more details "auf deutsch": http://www.jww.de/ausruestung/332-9-5x66-super-express-vom-hofe

"As then examined the British firm Westley Richards for a cartridge for Mauser systems in caliber .375 range , Walter Gehmann decided to a third attempt and chose this time the 7x66 SE . from the court as a basic sleeve.

This provides plenty of powder room available to even surpass the performance of the .375 Holland & Holland yet . The production of cartridges and the development of the final Component assembly is carried out at Wolfgang Romey / Peter Hagen , which also manufactures the other from the court for Gehmann caliber .
In England this cartridge arrived at the same time as .375 Westley Richards , also manufactured by Romey , on the market . The factory cartridges are loaded onto a S Vo of about 820 m / . This results in case of a 300 Grains heavy projectile a muzzle energy of 600 Joules 6 .

Thus, the new cartridge is a good 800 Joules on the values of .375 Holland & Holland , and comes the .378 Weatherby very near ( For comparison : .375 H & H , Winchester Silvertip 300 Gr .: 772 m / s , 5781 joules )."

That would make a takedown in

8 x 68 S / 9.5 x 66 ( 375 Westley Richards)

quite a cool and effective combination, with cool sounding cartridge names as well.

Yes, please!
Now, the only thing I need is what poor people call money.

Incidentally, I also Google'd the caliber and came up with but one WR rifle ever made in that particular caliber - or so they say Only WR in .375 WR?.
Cool factor about 1,000 on a scale from 0 to 100 where 0 is none and 100 plenty.
