Gentlemen, does anybody know what the average pressure of the 6.5x54 MS cartridge is. Thanks in advance.

I believe the CIP pressures are about 53k psi or 46k cup.

You might get accurate data from the two European companies that I know producing 6x54MS i.e. Dorfner in Austria and Kynoch in the UK:
- Dorfner: www.waffen-dorfner.at or www.buechsenpatronen.at (I use their 8x56MS, which are excellent)
- Kynoch: www.kynochammunition.co.uk

My German reloading manual, which is issued by DEVA, the agency in charge of proof testing in Germany, lists the maximum pressure for the 6.5X54 M/S as 3650 bar, which converts to roughly 52,940 psi. All the loads they list are maximum. For instance, they list 36 grains of Vihtavouri N140 with the 140 grain Nosler Partition as giving 738 meters per second, or roughly 2400 fps.

Finnish language word "vuori" translates in english "mountain" so writing "vouri" is same as writing "muontain".
