357 max

Dear all,
I have a question regarding the 357 max. I know it is 'on the edge' to feed in a classic 310 cadet martini action. Would it work on a BSA action formerly in .300 extra long (case length 1.54'; 357 maximum is 1.640. Rim of .300 extra long is .370; .357 maximum is .440). I have the feeling it might work. But I don't know if the action will hold the pressure as the .300 extra long was probably a black powder number.
What do you guys think?

We are running .17AH on Martini Cadet Actions in the 50PSI range - perhaps a bit higher, using Hornet Brass.

The only issue that there has been with the .357 Max is getting it to feed. The only adjustment you should make is to adjust load position of the breech block. Some guns will feed, some will not.

A bad practice by some less knowledgeable is to grind the feed tray on top of breech block. If you feel comfortable grinding locking lugs, then go right ahead. The breech block is basically the locking lug of the Martini. This was a practice not allowed in my shop.

I have never seen a catastrophic failure from this practice, but the cracks that appeared did not instill confidence.
