Who will be first to build .465H&H

The formidable .465 H&H designed in 2003 is short enough to fit in a Mauser 98 action by lengthening the mag to 3.525". The 2.9" case, that can be formed from .460 WBY brass, with a Woodleigh 480gr bullet seated to cannelure measures about 3.45" with soft points and with solid, 3.5". The cartridge will launch these bullets at 2375fps for 6012 ft-lbs of energy, at much lower pressures than the Lott.
Kreiger has .468 dia. barrels available in North America.
If I had the skill to build a classic African Hunting Rifle along the lines of the H&H originals it would surely be a desirable addition to any collection.

Has that case in the photo been formed from 460 WBY brass, because it looks as if some brass has shaved just ahead of the belt and is sitting up against the front of the belt, or is it just an optical illusion in the photo?

Appears that way to me too. Also, it is not even all the way around, but is an interesting mixture of old school, sloping shoulder & more modern rebated rim designs.

I cannot say for sure but it does have longitudinal scrape marks that suggest it went through a full length sizing die. Since it is an early pic I would not be surprised if it was made with a WBY .460 case. I like the design. It should feed and extract well. Operates at low pressures perfect for the African climate it was designed to hunt in. Has plenty of remaining velocity at 100yds+ for good penetration and would fit in a standard M98 with minimal metal removed from the bottom locking lug shoulder. It also carries the name of one of the most if not the most prestigious company in gun making history.
There are cases manufactured in the States by Quality Cartridge and available through Midway for those who want the correct head stamp.
