The silent majority

I'll post it here as this forum is the most popular.

A lot of people visit the forums every day and read the new posts - I know as I see the stats - but don't join in the discussions. Why not tell us about your hunting and shooting, or join in one of the existing discussions. Don't be shy.

And your post WILL count towards the Klasserie buff hunt raffle ticket being given away.

Cchunter is odds to win the raffle by probability. He doesn't really want to go to Africa to hunt again ( ) haven't just enjoyed returning home to lots of exciting work. He will tell you staying at home and working is much more fun than life on safari.

Help him out and win the ticket away from him .

NITROX , I find there are far more lurkers on all the forums than one might think! Many are simply not talkers, but listeners. There is nothing wrong with that, I could probably benefite from more listening than talking, but it isn't my nature! As you will realize, once you find that MacD37,on Accurate Reloading, and I are one, and the same! The reason I don't post on this sight a lot, is, most of the posts posted here were first posted on AR, and I had already responded to them under the screen name MacD37, and most of the other respondants had also responded on AR. It just seemed a little redundant, and some may not have even wanted to hear my first post! The same reason goes for Hunt America.

I agree with you, this is a very good forum, and it is a shame that more people do not post here. As for me I'll post here more often, and we need some of those that only lurk to join in. Make statements, ask questions, or simply loog on to say HI!

This is a good and friendly forum, and hopefully, will remain that way.
For what its worth, I reckon we should all have an 'introduce a friend ' policy, that way we will pull together a lot more like minded people.

Perhaps some of the members are hesitant to post more because they don't think they are as knowledgeable as some, or don't feel they have anything new to offer. IMO that the opposite is true. It's kind of like my job: I've been doing same job for almost 18 years now, and I think I'm pretty good at it. However, even though most of the younger employees look up to me, and come to me for advise, not a day goes by that I don't learn something new from them. So, yea, I welcome input from everyone. No one knows it all, or has done it all. Everyone has something they can bring to the table.

IT is a tricky one.

First of all I must state that I'm not an expert on guns or hunting but what I do know I will gladly give to anybody who asks.

So if you are one of those guys who only listen and not ask please you can only learn some more to benefit all even if it is simple questions like what calibre would be best for kudu etc. and so on.

Simple questions makes the whole world seem simpler in the end of the day so please lets see some new posters I would love to be chatting to someone else for a change getting sick of all the regular posters

Another great point that I can bring out is that if it wasn't for this forums on the net I would have never met Christer in any other way so it makes the whole world smaller fo hunters all over the world to unite.

I DONT THINK WE ALL NEED TO BE TOO LIKE MINDED AS WE WANT A LITTLE BIT OF CONTROVERSY ON THE FORUM TO STIMULATE OUR BRAINS INTO RETURN POSTINGS SOME WITH INDIGNITY,RAGE,SUPRISE,HORROR,LAUGHTER AND SO ON- A TAME FORUM IS NO GOOD AT ALL I THINK AND I HAVE LEFT TOO MANY DUE TO THEM BEING SUCH--BIT LIKE SHOOTING TAME ANIMALS IN A PEN NO JOY AT ALL.
REMINDS ME THAT I WENT TO A FELLA`S PLACE WITH MY MATE TO SEE HIS LIONS,YES FULL MOUNTS OF THREE IN HIS HOUSE THAT HE SHOT IN TINY INDIVIDUAL CAGES DUE TO THE NOW DEFUNCT BACCHUS MARSH LION PARK GOING BROKE.I DONT AGREE WITH HIS RELATIVES THINKING THAT HE`S A GREAT HUNTER WITH ALL HIS TROPHIES AROUND THE HOUSE BUT THEN OF COURSE I HAVENT SHOT A LION YET SO WHO AM I TO ARGUE!!!!

Hi SH,

No the situation is actually worse now. I contacted the sellers (Westley Richards) asking about the various possibilities, but they never replied. Since then, the WW Greener .318 has disappeared from the ad, so I presume its sold. The Cogswell and Harrison .375 is still there though.

I also looked into the legal situation and finally confirmed that all rifles are illegal in Cyprus. Also, no British police force will grant a firearms certificate while I'm residing abroad, even if it is at the behest of Her Majesty! So I'll have to wait until I'm posted home in 10 months time.

That should mean that some money will be available for an African hunting trip, but as ever, there are other considerations. I want to take a car, my horse and my dog back to the UK and that's going to cost a fortune. Especially as the Greeks are being particularly awkward at the moment, so I might have to fly the horse back, rather than ship and move by road. You can imagine what a stack of cash that will cost.

But apart from that, I'm fine!
