I think you guys are being unfair on this one, as Tim is not your normal archer, I have guided him & our outfit also guided Bob Markworth another amazing archer (he is a trick shooter as well) they shoot Doves & Pheasants on the wing at full speed, sure they may miss, as we all do & I'm sure you would not want video evidence of all your shots, whether Bow or Firearm !!??

I have said the same thing in the pass, should not shoot so far (still do to rifle "shooters" who think 600-800yds on game animals is all right) don't shoot dangerous game while it is looking at you with a bow or in the head, but Tim can & does this all the time (head shot a Grizzly Bear) the self imposed rules we have on this sort of thing don't apply to people of near super human skill level really !

I remember a video (on youtube) and it was like "very bad shot on deer".

He's in a tree stand with his bow. Head shot, drops on the spot. Lots of comments were like "what was bad about that???" And the guy who posted the video replied quite honestly "Was aiming for the heart".

You know, you can be the greatest shot in the world, but at the slow speed of an arrow at 50-80 yards, all the target has to do is take one or two steps forward and a killing shot becomes a bad wound. Unfortunately common sense died some years ago.

Bob - I foolishly made an absolutely perfect shot on a whitetailed buck in South Eastern BC one late fall hunt - Kettle River Valley. The buck was broadside and below me - on about a 25 degree angle - about 110yard shot level. I was using my ultra-fast 65 pound (& slightly unstable) Ron Fox longbow - 550gr. shaft and head @ 215fps. My arrow flew perfectly. The buck jerked ahead 5 or 6 steps after my arrow was loosed, then stopped - the arrow striking the ground, perfect shot-placement through his lights - where he'd been standing. The arrow was some 12" to 18" behind the deer's butt, sticking in the ground.

I've been crapping on myself time and again for even taking that shot - maybe 20 years ago. It was a good shot and the only miss I have been grateful for - is could so easily have been through his guts instead of a clean miss.

Daryl:
Ron Fox is a friend of mine and I've shot a lot of his bows, never seen one that shot anywhere close to 200fps,.

Ron told me he made it on a bet against a fellow with a Browning round wheel compound. The bet was Ron could make a straight ended bow shoot as fast as that fellow's compound. Ron won the bet - but it was a bit flighty. It's best speed was 235fps with a 2014 - I might have been drawing 29" then.

I think the bow as only 64 pounds at 28". I bought the bow from Ron at the Brownsville Safari - back in 1992, I think it was - maybe 93. My wife also bought one of his bows at the same shoot. That was the Safari before the Sooke Safari where my wife beat 514 archers out of 520 total - yeah - me too - and Taylor. What a gal. Ron built her a bow just for winning that one. He inscribed it, Good Shooting Tracy The closest woman to her score was 179 points behind. She beat me by 72 points.
