CZ 550 Safari magnum 416 Rigby stock question.
      #264799 - 11/05/15 12:20 AM

I'm interested in a like new (only 10 rounds fired through the gun) CZ 550 Safari magnum European version with a hog's back stock in 416 Rigby, the stock come with two stock cross bolts, so my question is with two cross bolts the chance to split or crack the stock are still there? Bedding is necessary?

$1200 shipped and no taxes is a fair price for a like new rifle like that?

IMO despite two cross bolts those factory stock allways need bedding. But I think this hogbag -stock is not the best for big calibers so it would be better idea to change stock to modern with straight comb.

If I remember well Hogback stocks are good with iron sights.

Yes, you are correct. My friend have BRNO 602 Magnum with .375 H&H and he just donīt like itīs "hogback" stock. But you should test yourīs and then make your own decisions.

I never liked the hogsback stocks as an appearance thing more than usability. However, I recently purchased a Brno 602 in 458WM and find that the hogsback stock on it is very comfortable to use. Still don't like the look, but it doesn't belt me in the cheek, so it will stay.

Different method/style of having a raised cheek-piece, having a usable cheek-piece/weld for scope use, but not hammering you with the irons like most American stocks that designed for scopes but used with irons. It's a Euro-designed stock - I rather like them as they are VERY functional. They did fit me perfectly as well.

Thanks for the replies guys, one more question anything wrong with the 1:16.5 twist of the CZ? The twist is good with 400 gr bullets and heavier ones?
