Holland & Holland, Westley Richards and the other great makers in Great Britain used a wide variety of actions for their creations, particularly in the post-WWII era. My question is: has anyone seen a Model 70 action used by one of the great makers in a custom rifle?

I have not seen a Winchester action being used. I did, however, see a left-handed Rigby .375 built on a Heym action (SR20). I seem to recall that the rifle had been built in the 70'S. Charls

That is a very interesting question. One would think that a M70 action would have been used somewhere along the way...
And if not, then I wonder why?

Griffin and Howe have used Model 70 actions since the early post-war years, but curiously not during the period 1937-41 to the best of my knowledge. Perhaps they still had a good supply of Oberndorf actions at that time. I am not aware of any Model 70 actions having been used by the top British makers, although the Savage 1920 action has been used.
I did see a David Mackay Brown rifle built on a Ruger 77 action for sale in Australia about 10 years ago. It was a beautiful rifle in 7x57, one of only a few bolt rifles made by that firm.
I think the original Oberndorf actions are still the first choice of top gunmakers even today, when they can get them.
