G'Day Fella's,

Yes I seen an image of this same rifle in the SFI magazine.
Nice looking bit of kit but would like to confirm a few things before I reached for my wallet!

Doh!

Hey Homer..
I agree---I do have several of their rifles in smaller calibers..220 Swift, 204 Ruger, 6.5/284, 6/284 and last but not least one in 30-06...all but 2 are single shots..ALL shoot really well..the are a semi-custom gun IMHO, fit and accuracy has been really good in all I have.

Curious to see what the controlled round feed looks like?

Very slow with the wallet.

I have a pair of single shot fat barrels in 223 and 6.5x284. They are both rock stars and shoot tinny little groups.

I bought my dad a 6.5x284 repeater for his retirement present. Would not load rounds from the magazine. Sent it back and they worked on the mags but still not 100% reliable. Also the mags are not that well engineered, they come loose quite quickly.

A got a gun smith on the line and he admitted that the model was designed for 30-06 cartridges and anything not in that family has been a big problem.

I'd wait a model year or two before I'd try anything new from Cooper.

G'Day Fella's,

Yes Ripp, that was one of the things I was wondering about.
Also, from what I have read, this Cooper DGR is supposed to be a 2 Lug bolt gun? But in the advertising image, it appears to have an external guide bolted to the outside of the bolt body, possibly indicating it may still be a 3 lug bolt???
I would prefer a 2 Lug bolt and that extra caming ability, that comes with this!

Regards

Wow--that is spendy--I checked with a local shop here that is a Cooper dealer..they indicated for something in the .416 caliber, the price would be around $3785. US
'
Cooper is only about 3 hours from my house..plan to stop by while "working" to check one out..when I do --which will be sometime in the next 2 months I will advise..

Also a friend of mine handles their account for insurance so he knows a lot of the guys inside said he will arrange for me to visit with one of they guys in the shop..

The Australian premium. Take a price and multiply it by 50-75%. I don't know how you Aussies survive. Lovely country, and lovely people, but expensive.

Nice looking rifle. I would like to know what kind of safety is employed. I would prefer a 3-position Model 70 myself. Bedding and cross bolts are need to haves as well.
