Nice setup DORLEAC.

It highlights the problem with many doubles of a scope requiring a long tube length. And greater eye relief if you want to reduce the overhang.

I have a Zeiss Diavari C 1.5-4.5x on my 375 Mag double. I would prefer something with more eye relief for less ocular overhang. The Leupold's do not really fit. Probably why you see many double rifles with the Swarovski 1-6x EE mounted on them.

Cheers,

Chris

Probably also because it is such an excellent scope with such a useful range of magnification. 1x for very close, but also 6x for a more precise or longer range shot.

Another excellent optic, very popular on this side of the pond, the KAHLES Helia 5 1-5X24 i P-Dot

Notice that this year they made the 1,6-8x42i European version with blued steel tube…!

I love the 4x36 steel tubed Schmidt & Bender and was lucky enough to get the last batch made.
Also have a 4x36 Nickel set a side for one particular rifle .

+1 on the S&B 4x36 or Zeiss 4x32, these can still be found NIB even though out of production. Only issue is short eye relief, which is a consideration for any scope choice. The fitting of the scope should be done just like the fitting of a stock so everything is just right for the owner... Beautiful bespoke rifle!

What about Aldis. We're they a Brit scope?
A fully refurbished one might be a possibility.

When reading yours comments of suitable scopes for rifles I would make a conclusion that most of you very seldom hunt in evening/early morning when there is quite twilight lighting in nature. In these circumstances you just need great sized high quality scope with big objective lens. Double rifle is IMO not at itīs best in those situations but I know people who hunt all big animals with double and it happens very often in the evening when those animals normaly come to "dinner".
