Terry, Check out this place. You put in the gun and scope model and it gives you the best possible mounts. The leupold bases part had the program.

Terry,
I'm using Warnes, a little heavy but stout and the only one I know of (there may be others) that use the Ruger mount grooves directly.

I believe talley uses the ruger groves dirctly as well. They are not light but work like hell.

As I recall, the Talleys use a base, even on Rugers. I went with Warnes and never had problem one. They return to zero well. Warne are a bit crude looking...my only objection to them.
I also have a set of Warne on my SS Ruger Mini 14...same excellent results.

Congrats on you .416 Rigby.... I too have one, and I asked that question here a few months ago.. and I got the Warne's. Great mount for that gun.. also, as to a scope recommendation, consider the Burris Safari Signature, with almost 4" of eye relief Good luck with your Rigby

It is pretty simple to tig on a set of levers for the original Ruger rings, and they are hell for stout..also they can put a stop on them to guarentee the exact replacement on them...they work very well.
