Ahh - terrifically long spey plumes - - enticing, but of course, not available for obvious reasons - thanks for the pictures. Those would make a wonderful 6 ought Salmon/Steelhead sly.

Those long strands flowing past the body- Steelhead cannot resits. Of course today, we use bleached chicken feathers - the bleaching removes the barbules that 'stitch' the individual strands together.

I do love tying special Steelhead (see-run rainbows trout) flies - hate tying trout flies so I buy those.

The record steelhead from BC waters runs around 43 pounds. My best was 24 pounds.

And believe it or not, anti duck hunting dickheads and so called environtalists claim duck hunters might confuse eygrets with ducks ....

Spot-on - after all, anyone could make that mistake - they are exactly the same, except for the head, neck, feathers, legs and feet and style of flying.

The article says "confuse ducks and brolgas ..." not eygrets ... now I could confise a "brolga" with an "eygret" but not a duck ...
