Restocking a Farquharson Single Shot

I've recently acquired a 450/400 Thomas Turner Farquharson that is very appealing, but in dire need of a restocking. Could someone recommend where I can get a quality stock reproduced, checkered, fitted, etc.?

You could contact Richards Micro-Fit or Boyd Boys to see if they will turn a stock for you or suggest someone with a profiler who would.

The other option is to hire someone like Steve Zihn,of this site, to make one for you.

My apologies Daryl, I mean no offense but I would put Richards Micro fit and Boyd's way at the bottom of any list to do this type work and would be surprised if either were capable. Then you may know something about one or the other that I do not. These two companies are more in to mass production OEM stocks work.

I would contact Dominick Pisano, San Antonio, Texas.email: dpisano@earthlink.net . He should be able to handle htis work.

There is another guy in Maine who a skilled english Gunsmith who would even be better, but I for the life of me can not remember his name.

Doug Mann would be my choice for a high end rifle. He worked his magic on my Alex Henry and it's beautiful!

I do a fair bit of work on them. Several in process currently. Here is one I restocked for a board member a few years back. I have a pantograph and several patterns as well. Drop me an email if you would like to talk over your project.

I mereley suggested the 2 stock profilers I know of in the States - that perhaps they would do a 1-off for a price.
Of course, that would only be the very start of the project.

I can recommend James Anderson without reservation. His style is very English anyway and his stock work is flawless. You may have to wait a while, but he is worth it.

No suggestions as to who in the USA but a custom stocker who can make a stock to the traditional pattern from scratch to fit your body shape and size. Should be lots of photos on NE available to see exactly the way they were stocked.
