Hey guys,
The front sight on my M1910 is broken, can someone please measure the height of theirs so i can have a number to go off?
Cheers, Ash.

Hey mate, will try to remember to measure mine tomorrow. What height did you need exactly? from top of ramp to top of bead?

I was just hoping getting the sight height would be a cheats way to rebuild it.
This is how mine currently looks:
Cheers! And no, there is no spare in the grip cap - first thing i did was check

Ash: Will measure if it helps but now seeing yours, I can say that the bead on my example sits right down on the base, ie very little blade beneath the bead, if any! Bit pressed for time at the moment, but will take a pic if I get time, no promises... Its possible that mine has a non-standard ramp of course, always a risk with firearms that have been in the hunting field for a hundred mango-seasons! Hope this is of some help.

I measured by M.1910 in 9,5x57 M.-Sch.
The front bed in place measures exactly 0.100" from the top of the front sight to the bead, (the bead sticks out over the front sight). The spare bead in the grip trap measures 0.120".
I'm sure the following information is available online, but using a Lyman table in The Shooting Bible 1980 edition, page 426, a 0.020" difference should make a 4" difference of POI at 100 yards assuming your rifle is an "English Take-down Model", like mine, with a 23" barrel and a 19,1/2" sighting plane.
Shooting 260-grain Nolser accubond, (which feeds nicely from my magazine), at 2,250 fps and using a fine bead, (meaning the bead is at the bottom of the 100yd vee rear blade), the centre of the bullet group is 1.5" high @ 100 yards using the 0.100" bead.
BTW, I had my gunsmith file the front bead nice and mirror like and when I next went to the range I couldn't see it and had to smoke it. So take a lighter.
Regards.

Bought dies today on eBay, $85 posted to the Missus's in USA. They wouldn't post to Aus. So I'll buy some 6.5x54 dies also and get them to her so she can post them both over and save on shipping
Thanks GG, Marakai, Kiwi Bloke, and Pierre, who emailed me the details of his rifle but for some reason is having difficulty logging on to this website. Much appreciated guys.

0.1" on my rifle too Ash. It's got a total barrel length to face of chamber of 22.5 inches.
Cheers.
