It is being reported that all of the ATF's hurdles have been handled, the flood waters along the Front Range are subsiding and the much anticipated Fraser will be in Boulder in the coming week.

Possible plan to retrieve it during the Giving of Thanks weekend.

BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING ........

Today I was at the shop of Steven Bertram and am delighted to say that I have taken possession of the Fraser. Along with the formalities of procuring ownership, I had an immensely enjoyable visit with Mr. Bertram. Handling a A. Henry .360 as well as a H&H Royal 12b where highlights of the mechanics. There was also a huge Greener 8b fowling piece as well a a H&H Farq in .30 super not be unmentioned.......but truly, swapping stories was the real trophy of the day.

Once I return home and have a time when it is daylight in the garden I will take a few photos as well as disassemble and clean the rifle.

First glance, it is all I had expect and was represented by Tranters very well. Refinished at some time for sure, but still "all there".

To cap the day, I took in the sights of eclectic 29th street in Boulder. Found a wonderful Tea house and did indulge a bit.

"We need to talk about that "Patent Single Trigger" soon!"
You will have full access to you my friend, no worries. Wait until you snap, clearly the finest ever fit to a Dutch Mannlicher.

Our seasons are over for this year, but rest assured I have some wonderful looking 160 softs and solids to be tested.

Today was the test drive.

What a difference a week or bit makes. Since that sunny 65degF day I picked it up at Mr Bertrams in Boulder. Arriving home it has snowed and blew heavily as well as dipped to -29degF. Yesterday was a bit of a break, and continues today.

I had formed some WW-Super .303brit cases prior to getting the rifle (pretty snug once it arrived) and loaded them with 34gr Varget (the normal go-to of ReLoder 15 is un-available right now) with the 160gr Hornady seated to the cann. with a cci-200 primer.

Took a trip to the prairie, the snow was thin, no wind and a warm sun. First few rounds where burned to get the feel of the rifle, rest of clip was used on a big granite slope. A aiming point of pyrite worked great. The next 2 landed on the sights, with my mis-handling the 3rd slipped a bit high.

The next clip went for a little walk and 5 rounds found 5 targets of opportunity, admitted none challenging, but hits all the same. LOP and drop fit me well. The trigger breaks very nice, the sights allow me to hit. All around it was a fine experience.

As I had made up 15rds of ammo I had another clip in a pocket so dug them out. Sitting in the Scoria, sun hot on my face, that clip in hand..........I decided to save them for later. It felt right to have enough and not to indulge. I got out the camera snapped a few.

Looked at them, shipping from Australia would be too much. That and paperwork could be something too.
Thanks

Just noticed this... Midway sells Woodleigh bullets.

My eyes are aging fast. The long sight radius doesn't help. I am selling it to built something I can see the sights on.

Caprivi:

I'll bite. Presuming, of course, that you still have it, how much?

Jim
