Merkel 450-400 projectile diameter

Does anybody know which projectiles merkel set up their 450-400 for? I've always assumed it would be .410 or .411 as I've read somewhere that the .408 was for some English variations.

Help?

Can you slug your tubes? I believe that all new ones are .410 but others will know for sure. My Ruger was .410

Some of the older 450/400 3 1/4" even go down to either .403 or .405

I don't have any tubes to slug (yet), I'm busy putting the cart before the horse and getting some starter loads together while I scratch together the sponduli to take the plunge.

If anybody has a merkel, which diameters have you tried and what are your results?

I'm pretty sure it's .410. My fathers Merkel shoots Hornady DGX and DGS bullets well.

.410" diameter in mine, although 408's shot well enough too.
