I'm sure you're correct on that

I still can't afford one though
One day. I'd love a Heym bolt gun in .600 Nitro (do they still make those?). Something about rimmed calibers in bolt guns..

Guess I thought it was pretty grand---I ordered another Heym

Basically, it is a PH style receiver with Safari level engraving- but no hand chiseled fences or long tang as on the Safari

Looks like a good deal.

I love it that the .375 Flanged Magnum is one of the offered chamberings. What an exquisite and useful DR that would be.

Or have two, the .375 and a 500 Nitro..what a combo that would be as well..

What is the red circular item directly behind the safety. I have not been able to find that out despite many internet searches. Thanks in advance!

Safety "ON" covers the red triangle......
Safety "OFF" (forward) uncovers the red, ie: hot...ready to fire.

Yes ok, but why does it appear to be a cap screw. What function does it serve?

eta: to elaborate, a simple recessed red dot would suffice for a safety indicator;however, this item appears to be designed to be turned in and out like a set/cap screw. I thought maybe it had something to do with the safety reset on/off.

I have not touched mine as I prefer the safety to stay off unless I put it on.

The above posted firearms are a very good value in my opinion. I love my 470

Ah, sorry, I misinterpreted your question. Hope I didn't come off sounding ignorant.

Besides being the "Hot" or "Fire" indicator for the safety-

It is also the end of a screw coming through from the underside-
The screw joins the lower tang metal to the upper tang metal-

And- I agree -the 375 Flanged is a great rifle--
It was the second Heym double I acquired

Yes the 375 flanged would be a one rifle for the world. I'm tempted...

3dogmike- not at all. I should have been more detailed with my question.

Thanks for the info.
