Per Langvad
      #259401 - 24/01/15 08:45 AM

My friend Yochanan gave me the link to Danish gunmaking legend Per Langvad's website. The funny thing is that he does not have any pictures of his own made from scratch guns on it yet, oonly pictures of restorations. Still, a lot of gorgeous stuff to see!

Good hunting!

see it before, he had 8x58RD ammo whats onmy list
wonder why he made 11,15x60R Mauser ammo? seems not to be the cartridge in need for the danish market.

Maybe one of his clients had a rifle for the caliber?

A request, Lancaster, you are a magician at finding pictures of rare and interesting firearms. Please look for pictures of Mr Langvad's own creations. I have heard praise from our Scandinavian members for his work, but have never seen pictures of any of his creations. As you've seen, he hasn't even posted any on his own website . . .

Thanks in advance, and good hunting!

mehulkamdar, are you sure that Mr langvad used to make any guns from scratch ? I know many finnish gunsmiths who have repaired guns for many decades but never build any from scratch.

how many gunmaker realy making guns completly from scratch? H&H claims to make everything in the house including the screws but I am no sure if someone like Merkel or Heym not buying special parts in the trade. so any gunmaker building a rifle not been there before is realy a "Gunmaker".

Hello Igorrock,

I must thank friend Lancaster for his reply. Yes, what I meant that was Mr Langvad is known to have built complete guns possibly from guild sourced components that he acquired from elsewhere. The final firearm, of course, was the result of his expertise. I have heard that he dislikes publicity. For a long time, he did not even have a website. At least he has one now! In a few years, we may see something that he has built himself . . .

MR Langvad has build guns from scratch. I have seen a 6x70Doublerifle he has completed. Nice gun for sure.

Thank you, Jens, my friend. A request to you here - if you ever come across any gun built by Per Langvad, please request the owner to post pictures here. I have heard that his shotguns, in particular, are exquisite. As you know, I like to try and locate gun artists and post their work here. It would be especially wonderful if we could get pictures of the work of a great artist like Mr Langvad here.

Good hunting!

PS Igorrock, Please feel free to share pictures of the work of Finnish gunsmiths - both restorations, and full builds. Your country has a great gunmaking tradition, and we must, of course, recognize their artistry.
