double conversion large bore

I saw recommendations to someone else about conversions of a double gun to rifle and I could tell you guys have been around the block and new what you where talking about. I am just delving into this and have built many guns of differing types but never a double (actually would like to hire some one to do the barrel work?).I am going to go big bore (really big 8 and 10 bore)I have acquired a very solid e.c. green underlever (no dolls head)back action lock in 8 bore (barrels are dented at muzzle ends) , now from everything I can gather this will be ok with black powder loads and round ball ? what are your opinion's or recommendations for someone to do work for me.

I was planning on practice on a ten bore upper lever Belgium(with dolls head) but not sure on this one ?

First, welcome to N.E.!
You have certainly come to the right place.
As for your 8 with the dented muzzles, are you first proposing to cut the barrels back and give them a go with roundballs?
I think that is what I would do. Heck, even Holland and Holland built some smoothbore 8s and they shoot quite well from what I have read.
I am sure some more knowledgeable folks than I will be along soon to help you out.

thanks Huvius
I am planning to have the barrels honed out and 8 bore rifled inserts (with chambers) installed rifled for shooting round ball 1/48 to 1/78 twist and cutting the barrels back from 32 to 22 inchs (maybe 24?)
