There is one at Holt's next auction.
I am thinking of going for that one myself but their buyer's premium can easily push the price into the unaffordable range.
It is a beauty though for sure.
Are you thinking a smallbore like a 303 or something bigger? 400/360 was something of a Fraser specialty.

I'd like to find something in the larger calibers, but I would considder almost anything as a first purchase. I'd like one to go with my Daniel Fraser double rifle. I'd even consider trading my cased Alex Henry with original scope and all the original tools and accessories.

How about a Fraser clone totally custom in a 600 NE?

Hello AkMike,

I'd really like to find an original Fraser. I already have this Farquarson Clone in 600.

Tell us about that rifle.
I never knew you could fit a 600 in a Ruger action and I would have expected a bigger barrel shank if it could be done.
I do like the stainless No.1s in walnut.

Hello Huvius,

My Ruger No.1 is in 600JDJ caliber. The 600JDJ is a .577 case opened to 600 dia. The internal volume of the case is identicle to that of the 600NE because the case is a touch longer, and the case walls are a few thousands thinner. In addition, the rim is .050 smaller in dia. so not as much material needs to be removed from the rear of the barrel or the action sides. (see pic)

I too wondered about fitting a 600 into a No 1, but looks like it sure can be done. I was at a gunsmith once and he was fitting a 500 - 3" into a No 1 and there just didn't seem to be a lot of wall thickness left at the threaded section of the barrel. A 600 must leave even less, but like I said, seems to be OK.

Yes,

It works just fine. I shoot this one a lot. its a real head-turner with kind of a Star-Wars look.
