Nice rifles - I do not understand the pricing - what is 530,00 Euro and 705,50 Euro?

Would that be close to 1,000.00 US or CDN and 1,200US or CDN?
If so, I'd estimate they are decently priced, maybe even excellently priced, especially the second one, the 14 mm rifle.

The patent breech on the second rifle is especially nice to see, along with what appears to be a 1/2 cock safety - a really nice rifle.

Hopefully the bores are in good shape as well.

THOSE are incredible and so inexpensive. You could not even begin to have a maker today build one for those expected prices - not even the higher priced ones.

Certainly a 'different looking' scent bottle, but very interesting, just the same. Perhaps it is a Germanic or Austrian version, as the rifle's design smacks of that area.
I do think one of Lyamn's Black Powder Handbooks has a photo or drawing of the Forsyth version.

I agree Daryl, you can still get some very nice muzzleloader guns by big names at sensible prices. To tell the truth I enjoy shooting blackpowder shotguns more than the modern ones, messier but more involved and somehow more satisfying when you bring a bird down (or break a clay ) best

Lancaster, with regards the 16 bore SXS you posted, 16 was the smallest bore size Forsyth recommended for dangerous game in India.

In Africa, 12 bore was deemed the minimum in muzzle loaders.

It was not until the advent of strong enough breechloaders that could shoot hardened balls (conicals) that slug shooting guns could compete with the bore size ML's hardened spherical balls for 'killing' power on the big beasts.

Francis Selous' 4 bore, was a Dutch made single shot fowler(seems to me), shortened for use on elephant.
