Curl,

Bit hard when there is zero after sales service communication.

No there was no difference in terms, was talking to the guys at Trijicon for most of the world except for USA, and pretty much no result. ie see the paragraph above - the supply of one just petered out ...

The two guys there were and are personal acquaintances and friends. One or both (?) are members here. I don't blame them at all, as I have heard how things "work" in that company. I don't think either works there anymore ?

No, I'm not interested in a picatinny rail on a comibination set of barrels or a double rifle. Even a cheap pne.

I do have a base of sorts to try. I'm not going to go into the details of the discussion I had with a dealer in the USA and that it may have problems holding on well. But at least this member helped out with a possible option.

John,

I'm not suggesting that you slap 6 or 8 inches of Picatinny rail on top of your gun. I'm suggesting you get a blank steel Picatinny rail and have a gunsmith cut off a piece to fit exactly inside the existing dovetail on your gun, without enlarging the dovetail. It will be nearly, if not completely flush with the existing rib. Then the RMR goes on and comes off like a QD mount.

John may not be interested but for those that may, Curl is right, a very tidy base can be formed of a section of rail and if steel can be very thin and unobtrusive.

On a separate but related note...where the most Dangerous Game of all is hunted, glass has just about completely replaced iron for all except very few circumstances.

For those who do not want anything to do with a Picatinny fastener, Trijicon also offers their RM57 and RM58 bases. These are designed for ribs and would require making a custom insert to go in the dovetail with proper slots to accept the Trijicon attachment.

RM57 for 11-12 mm ribs.

RM58 for 14-16 mm ribs.

I don't think it is difficult to craft a double rifle mount for a Trijicon RMR, given the available attachments from Trijicon.

As explained to you Roscoe, the problem is service and after sales support and actually getting one supplied outside of the USA. Trijicon won't send anything outside of the USA if ordered and dealers outside don't import.

Also that mount, I have one, has no stud under it, and we will see if it moves under recoil. This is what was mentioned might happen.

Leupold doesn't seem to have the same problems. As you Americans say "Go figure ..."

There is an easy solution here. Mill a stop on the base you make for the dovetail. I think Talley does that, and Warne used to do it before re-designing their bases.

As for the customer service and the U.S. export laws, I said I have no solution.

Just trying to help.

It was funny that when I was once in New York City and in a train station, I picked up a schedule which included a name of a town that I thought was only a joke. I forget its name! But might remember later. It is in some song or joke, about being "from ..." or "going to ..."

You never know if a place actually exists.

Indeed!

I'll tell my wife that next time we go Back East to Pennsy I want to have a fun time going from Bird-in-Hand to Intercourse and back again a few times.

LOL.
