Dressing for the Hunt
      #252210 - 16/08/14 07:45 AM

I suppose most of us, if asked would say something like the hunt starts waaaaay before the morning of the first day in the field. That's a "no brainer" for me; but it doesn't end with just the planning, or at least theres more to my planning.

Part of the hunt for me is "my o my what to wear". When I went to South Afrika in 2012, I surprised my buddy and my PH by wearing knee boots, jodhpurs, and a Stetson in my best Teddy Roosevelt impression. On off days, I switched to a kilt with a WW1 kilt cover.

Earlier this year for a pig drive hunt where orange was required, I managed to find an orange Top Hat. Ive got a deer and boar hunt planed for December, Im undecided if I should hunt in Lederhosen or an 18th century hunting flock and breeches.

Yes I have modern hunting clothes, and yes I wear them as well; but there is something to the added fun of choosing your period "garb"....

What do you wear?

If it's not custom, it's just borrowed
