Untouched Original Mauser 1925 scoped rifle

What make that particular rifle interesting is that while it has been used it was extremely well cared retaining the majority of its original finish.
That rifle was ordered with the option of a factory fitted Zeiss "Zielvier" scope. This fine optic is mounted using the Mauser first type claw mount system with outside button on the rear mount for windage adjustment.
All the scope mount parts are numbered to the rifle SN.
The scope, fitted with its original leather protection, is optically perfect, with a well-defined n°1 post reticle and while the exterior finish has turned a sort of brown patina it don't suffer of the lightest blemish or of any pitting.
The rifle uses a rear square bridge action and bears a 24" fully ribbed part octagonal, part round, barrel with a perfect mirror bore.
Caliber is 8x60 with .321" bore for N and S type bullets.
It's very difficult nowadays to find such a well-preserved Original Mauser rifle that has not suffered from repair or times wear.

Hard to beat really. It just looks fantastic from every angle. Is the rib machined integral with the barrel or is it soldered on.

Wow, Joel. That is a rare treasure, my friend. And, it found its way to a modern master in building Mauser sporters! I particularly like the see through mount treatment on it. Far more elegant than other see through mounts that I have seen. Thank you for sharing, and good hunting!

nice gun joel,,,i think 8x60 rifles see a little less usage as mine is in as pristine condition as ive ever seen ...paul

Very nice, love to see them like that untouched. I have one exactly like yours in 8x60 with the double set triggers and half round half octagon barrel, square bridge with the stipling and dovetailed front mount. Sadly I am missing the scope and mounts so you have me beat.

Beautiful well optioned rifles! Just love the fine wood of the stocks and the Zeiss optic is really the frosting on the cake! Thanks for showing..Kevin.
