My mate has a BRNO 602 in 375 h&h mag,I bought a Brno 602 300 win mag of him and he is ribbing me because his will hold six in the mag and mine only holds five?anyone else come across this?

Come on wharfy. I didn't know it only held 5. But what do you expect. 300wm is a poor caliber compared to 375HH. But six round mag capacity is good. Or should I say, 6.5 rounds.
Maybe rebarrel to a good caliber would help.

Yes.
Some 602's will just squeeze in that 6th round and some wont.
My 375 602 would but my 458 602 would not.
I don't know what the difference was/is though.

Thats allright mate,The 300 will do the job better on the metal plate though wont it.

I don't know about that. Anything that needs pure velocity to make up for it's short fall. Besides anything running around with armour plate needs HE rounds.

Mine will hold 5 458 Lotts eaily ,but I can force 6 in. 6 375s will fit easier as they are slightly more tapered and narrower up front. I think maybe the 300 win is straighter than the 375.

I think "will hold" and "will reliably cycle" should be considered. I've heard the same thing; some hold 5 and others hold 6.... My 602 in 375 will "hold" 6 down, but it won't cycle the bolt with more than 5-down.
With one in the pipe and 5 down, surely 6 is enough?!

Very true.
The 602 magazine box is all wrong for the 375 belted case diameter.
The box is way to wide and the "stack" ends up wrong.
Most 602's end up with one or more cartridges "loose" in the mag and free to slide back and forth!

Five is plenty,If you have to use more than that your in trouble.So it is not really an advatage if it wont cycle properly.
