450 Nitro 3 1/4 loading
      #250227 - 09/07/14 01:04 PM

Hello,
I have just completed a project building a 450NE on a Ruger No 1 and intending to use 405 grain gas checked lead projectiles for plinking and 400 grain PP woodleigh's for hunting and was wondering if anyone out there had any loading data for 400 grain bullets at around 2100 fps. I am planning on using ADI AR2213 SC or AR2209 powder. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Dan.

I load 89gr AR2213SC under a 440gr bullet with a grain of Dacron filler. The last owner was getting 2120fps with this load.

Disclaimer: I am not liable for use of information above.

This is in a bolt action Certus rifle, I assume the ruger to be stronger.

mussd0,
looked in Graeme Wrights 3rd book P105
450 3 1/4 Nitro 480gn Woodleigh - full Nitro load & proof tested for doubles.
He uses the full 480gn loads prefers AR2213sc - but uses Dacron filler due to excessive airspace.
I would suggest you get this book & read it first as there can be issues loading this case - hang fires etc.
All primers were Federal 215
98gn - 2000fps
102gn - 2085fps

Have a read first - some NFB loads for this one on P145 - but smaller weight projectiles
