Interesting. I may have the bug.

Thoughts on turning this into the 375f that fits this action? Is this a good candidate?

I would have to
see how bad the bore is before reboring .I had mine rebored but an 8mm bullet would drop right through the original .303 bore ;talk about being shot out.Of course the owner will have the final say on what happens with the rifle.

There is a very similar rifle in this thread:

Reboring will depend on the barrel profile. The light weight barrel will be a bit thin for the .375 x 2 ½".

I like the look of the military shaped butt stock. Looks like no Lee Speed patents, what would this mean to the claims of a turn of the century commercial sporter?

I think the "Lee Speed" on the patents ran out in the early 1900,s and then the BSA rifles were just marked as such but there are many others more knowing than I when it comes to the exact patent date though. I am quite sure the rifle listed is a BSA No.4 Sporting Carbine

I think I'm mostly looking for a "perfect donor action", the plan would be to rebarrel, restock and end up with a top shelf Lee Speed.

I don't have a smith in mind yet but the idea appeals to me.
